Tod A. Myrum, is a patent
agent at LJP practicing in the area of mechanical, electrical,
and electromechanical prosecution.
Tod
was educated at The University of Minnesota in Minneapolis,
MN. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with
distinction in 1981, a Master of Science in Mechanical
Engineering with a minor in mathematics in1984, and
a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering with
a minor in mathematics in 1985.
Tod joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering
at Louisiana State University (LSU) as an Assistant
Professor in 1986. In 1991, he was promoted to Associate
Professor with tenure. While at LSU, Tod developed a
basic research program for studying turbulent fluid
flows and turbulent heat and mass transfer. His research
program received funding from the National Science Foundation,
the Department of Energy, and the Gas Research Institute.
Tod published 15 scientific articles on his research
in the top journals in the field. He also received the
Dow Chemical Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Tod left LSU in 1995 to pursue a career in patent law.
Prior to joining Leffert Jay & Polglaze, Tod prepared
and prosecuted patent applications for independent inventors
as a self-employed patent agent.
